Tales of our rouge and raunch-filled evenings from Cooks, the delightful resident blogger for Dr Sketchy's Falmouth.
27th September, 2011
Hello sketchers! The lovely Cooks is currently swooning around Q magazine headquarters so I filled in for the evening and what a marvellous evening it was! Held at Mango Tango’s, this month saw the beauties that are Sky Valentine and Ruby Rascal strutting their stuff in beautiful corsets whilst pencils were thrown into frenzy and eyes didn‘t know where to look.
The evening kicked off with our delightful host Cruella performing her first ever performance for Dr Sketchy‘s. Sporting black and white stockings, nipple tassles and a pair of flamboyant feathered fans, Cruella teased her audience in a fun game of seduction as she proved her place on the stage.
Next up was the enticing Sky Valentine who rocked out in PVC and killer heels for a variety of poses which highlighted her fabulous figure and rebellious nature. Looking every part the rock star, Miss Valentine settled into her final pose of the set as sketchers were asked to incorporate a meerkat in the drawing for the first contest. Congratulations to the winner Beth Hutchinson who won a pair of stocking by What Katy Did, one of the official sponsors of the night.
After a quick break where everyone present popped their eyes back in their heads, the dazzling Ruby Rascal, Plymouth’s own burlesque beauty, took centre stage wearing a waist clenching corset and a polka-dot apron. Miss Rascal flaunted her housewifery appeal during the second contest of the evening as sketchers invented a new hairstyle for her. The winner, Clementine Neild, walked away with vouchers courtesy of our second sponsor this evening, Great Shakes.
A few poses (and cupcakes) later, we welcomed back Sky Valentine who dominated the stage in jaw dropping military apparel. I noticed a few sketchers unable to take their eyes off Miss Valentine long enough to draw and I have to admit, I can hardly blame them! Sky casually posed in alluring positions using props such as chairs and riding crops which only proved that she’s a girl who likes to be in control. The final contest of the night had sketchers drawing with both hands and the winner (as chosen by Miss Valentine) was John Kilburn whose sketch was truly marvelous!
As the night drew to a close, Ruby Rascal appeared once more for a selection of poses and the closing performance of the evening. Dressed in a dazzling red dress and full length gloves, Ruby gave us all a raunchy dance where she teased her audience whilst slowly removing her clothes. A cheeky glance over the shoulder with a kiss and a wink accompanied with a killer dance routine was the perfect end to a fun filled night.
A big thank you goes out to all who attended and to our sponsors What Katy Did and Great Shakes who provided the prizes for the evening. Thank you also to our delicious host Cruella, Jen the DJ and Lawrence Gittins the photographer. Be sure to check out the photos of the evening, you’ll be sorry you missed it! The next event will be held on Tuesday 25 October and in true Halloween style fancy dress is encouraged! See you then!
24th August, 2011
Aloha to all old and new sketchers to the Dr Sketchy’s blog with me, Cooks, your new residential blogger! Following a typically English summer’s day of rain, rain and more rain sketchers huddled into 5 Degrees Below for the bright and beautiful delights of Miss Bonnie Blithe and, due to the unfortunate cancellation by Lady Lace, the angel which is Twiggy Von Lea.
Bonnie Blithe, inventor of the Pussy Cocktail (not all of us fancy a cocktail, do we?) kicked off the evening by telling us three amusing anecdotes about three of her shirts – proving attractive women can indeed be funny. It was these stories that led to inspire Bonnie’s poses which included that of her ex-stoner boyfriend, a free market which she had attended and her ex-flat mate who insisted on name dropping. It was this ex-flat mate which led to the first competition of the night in which the sketchers were given ten minutes to draw the stunning Bonnie alongside a cartoon celebrity of their choice and congratulations must be made for the talented Phil Pendlebury who won the prize provided by Dr Sketchy’s sponsors Baby Tattoo Books.
As hero of the night Twiggy von Lea entered eyes widened as she stood centre stage, dressed in some absolutely gorgeous nipple tassles from Floral Fancies, another one of the Dr Sketchy’s sponsors. Modelling a pinstripe corseted dress with style and elegance, Twiggy instructed the second competition of the evening, which involved our sketchers being given a mere five minutes to use their opposite hand to sketch Twiggy in one of her many alluring poses. There was only one winner – the absolutely charming Emily Graham who got to take home a beautiful pink orchid courtesy of Floral Fancies.
Bonnie Blithe was then welcomed warmly back for a burlesque performance of ‘The Vicar is Coming to Tea’. The sketchers were not sure as to whether they should laugh or put their tongues back in their mouths as Bonnie used glitter, quaint paper maché cutlery and sexy blue sequin nipple tassles to put on a fantastic show. It was then up to the sketchers to come up with an inventive outfit for her and after a lot of indecision on Bonnie’s part it was finally concluded that the fashion-forward Chloe Frost would be the winner.
It was then very nearly time to say goodbye, boo hoo, but not before getting the chance to sketch Twiggy Von Lee in the spectacular Lady Allura’s Latex… my oh my! Twiggy von Lea’s giant baby pink hair looked amazing, however she was not satisfied and asked the sketchers to create a new hairstyle for her and who could be better for the job than Holly Young who created a funky ‘fro for our dazzling model.
A mahoosive thank you goes to every one of you that came along and to our sponsors Floral Fancies and Baby Tattoo Books who provided some excellent prizes. A big thank you goes to Jen, our DJ for the evening as well as our hosts Cruella and Eon. Resident photographer Sketchy Exposures. Finally to every body that I got a chance to speak to, you were absolute darlings and I hope that you enjoyed the night as much as I did and I hope that I get the opportunity to see you all again. Ciao for now my little chickens!
22nd June, 2011
Welcome back sketchers! Did you think it was over? This week's event marked the re-launch of Dr. Sketchy's Falmouth! We're back! With more! Are you excited?
We have a fabulous fresh pair of hostesses for our scheduled nights of naughty, so please welcome Cruella and Eon!
You might remember a macabre night back in September, with constraints and wheelchairs? Oh yes, that was them. Now they're in charge and holding the chains. Those wondering where our familiar Fondant Fancy had gotten to, were delighted to see her again at the re-launch. It has now been a whole year since the first Dr. Sketchy's Falmouth event!
Our first serving of the night was Susie Joan, fashioning the popular Lady Allura's Latex. We were thrown some dynamic poses to get us warmed up and hot under the collar, ready for some feathery parasol twirling and exposed garters. Extra points available for those who manage to capture the light glistening off our model's attire. Susie put on two wonderful sets for her debut appearance and was an absolute pleasure to draw.
And who else did we have behind the curtain? Well of course, an important night such as this wouldn't be complete without our lovely Cherry Shakewell. We were treated to two of Cherry's burlesque performances! Gloves were removed, explosions of glitter lit up the stage for a spectacular display. Pencils definitely snapped around the room when the tassels began to twirl.
As always, we have to get some challenges in there for the sketchers, how else are we going to get rid of those wonderful prizes? Sketchers were put to work on fanciful hairstyles, drawing with both hands and incorporating fictitious environments - a sci-fi burlesque setting caught one of our prizes this month. You have to love all the bright smiles on stage when people get their free stuff.
A big thank you to everyone who came, we saw a lot of new faces this month and we hope you all enjoyed it. We'd love to see some of your sketches, so send them our way!
Remember, the next event is in August. Stay tuned for a date and we look forward to seeing you in 2 months time!
23 November 2010
After an eerie disappearance around Halloween... our living, breathing Fondant Fancy returns! Just in time for our November Dr. Sketchy's. Isn't it hard to believe half a year has passed already? Don't worry, there is a great line up of events set for 2011 as well. There is much more to come!

Beautiful, but deadly, our first model for the night is KayKay Sakura, sliding her sword from its sheath, prepared to draw blood. She was right to be ready, as she was about to be attacked by 3 dudes with bad intentions, as part of the first contest of the night. KayKay put them in their place, demonstrating honourable castration upon her foes.
Surprise bonus round! One of our regular sketchers took a funny turn and began taking his clothes off. Amidst the panic, he was pushed into a chair so we could quickly get a sketch in before he calmed down. These opportunities are rare and can be startling, so just be prepared and don't look him in the eye if he approaches you.
Our second burlesque beauty for the night is Bleu Belle of Black Cherry Burlesque, flickering and teasing with her fan and pearls. It's time for the monthly animal inclusion contest! If you hadn't seen a naked mole rat before, it was time for you to make one up. I'm not sure what some sketchers thought naked meant, but there were a few mice covered in phallic armour. After a winner was crowned for animal cruelty, our delightful model ripped off her corset for another selection of poses.
KayKay's second set had a decorative parasol to include and also had her fantastic tattoo ink was on display, a challenge for any determined sketchers. Who remembers playing 'consequences' as kids? There was a nostalgia treat lined up that night for those who do. The amusing results were spread out across the stage, for KayKay to choose her favourite mutilated drawing.
Only one act to go, yet two burlesque dances were about to be performed for us. What a treat! Bleu Belle pulled some great gangster chair straddling for us. A tie and trilby hat means some serious business. The final contest of the night was to incorporate our Bleu Belle into a saucy seaside postcard situation. A filthy caption was encouraged. Our final winner took home a 3D drawing kit, hopefully we will see it being used at the next event!

A big thank you to all those who were able to attend, even with all the heavy exam and coursework deadlines going on. The next event is the final of 2010! There will be hoes, stuffing, cracker tugging, sack emptying, nut roasting. You name it, we got it. Our XXXmas themed event will feature Santa's naughtiest girls, Kitty Darling and Miss Scarlet Rose.
Remember, tickets for the next event can also be purchased in Two Little Birds or the Loading Internet Cafe. See you all on the 14th December, at Mango Tango's!
Toy Box of Terror
2 November 2010
Due to grim and unfortunate events, our fabulous host Fondant Fancy was unable to be present for the Dr. Sketchy's Falmouth Halloween Special. If the horrifying rumours are true, she may never be seen again. In our beloved host's absence, the hot spot was taken by Dollface Dolores, her restless porcelain counterpart.
The night opened up with a Halloween treat, in the form of an eerie awakening and a little disrobing from our initially inanimate Dollface. There is something unnerving about a child's play striptease, but simply compelling to watch. In fact it was kind of sexy, some scope for a fetish perhaps?
And look who's climbed back out of the rabbit hole! By the state of Miss Malice's dress, I don't think many were left alive down there. Except for her lovely new pet rabbit, dragged to the surface with a chain around its neck and a knife to it's throat. Those with red crayons and paints were well prepared for the stage sacrifice and blood bath that ensued. Oh Malice, how we've missed you!
I'd say this was Miss Kinky Pink's debut show, but those of you who attended the last time would still have wet taste buds from the sneak peak she gave us. Miss Kinky Pink had a raunchy act lined up split across two parts. You could hear chairs being dragged forward during her performance, as she began ruffling her feathers against those nearest.
Since I was trusted with choosing the contests for this Halloween special, I thought I'd go with a few Halloween nasties - gore, some extra limbs, octopus rape and a little flirting with the undead. Decorating Miss Kinky Pink with a variety of extra appendages lead to some spectacular sketches crammed with activity.
It wasn't long before Miss Malice returned in poisonous pink latex and clenching a wrist tight whip. During her set, sketchers were required to incorporate an 8 limbed underwater friend into one of their sketches. I saw at least two drawings of octopus fellatio around the room, which to me indicated a successful contest choice. Is this not why we come to Dr. Sketchy's?
After a short break, began Miss Kinky Pink: Part II. The second half of Miss Pink's act was jaw dropping to say the least! An incredibly energetic performance to the Lady Gaga Vs. Metallica Telephone Remix. After an assisted costume change on stage, we had some more delightful poses and our final contest of the night, leading to some suggestive skeletal sketches.
To top the night of terror off, there was a surprise toy box bonus round featuring our super evening Djs and an encore from our Dollface Dolores! Teddy bears composing puppet strings and lively dolls made for the perfect climax to our Halloween special.
Thank you to the models, our wonderful evening host, the famous Party Zone for sponsoring us and Lucy Pullinger for Dolface Dolores' wounded heart. We all had a brilliant night and hope to see you all again next month! Although we may have to ban the Halloween bride who turned up and won all our prizes.
Next month we have some samurai action with KayKay Sakura and a performance from Bleu Belle of Black Cherry Burlesque. It will be on Tuesday 23rd November, for the usual duration of 7-10pm at Mango Tango's. Be sure to get a ticket and come down to see us!
Cherry's return and Meme magic!
19 October 2010
Well blow me down! This months Dr Sketchy's took it up another level, with Cherry Shakewell returning for a second evening of tassel twirling for us in Falmouth, as well as putting on what I hear to be an excellent burlesque workshop before the evenings sketching commenced. I say hear, because this was a ladies only workshop and no sneakery could get me passed those doors. The long awaited Meme Narciss made her debut appearance this month, and it was certainly worth the wait!
We all love a bit of performance with our drinks and drawing, and this month we were presented with a delightful treat. Not only did Meme Narciss have something special ready for us, but Cherry Shakewell would be doing TWO performances, one of which never before seen! Three performances. One night. Falmouth, are you are lucky or what?
After a quick warm up sketch of our beautiful host, the show opened up with Cherry's first performance for the evening, a tasty tease in her cupcake corset. After a delicate dance and a sprinkling of confetti, her sweet buns were taken off display and Meme Narciss initiated her Marlene Dietrich as a Nazi performance, complete with lipstick cigarette and stockings. There is nothing quite like a strong sexy woman in uniform, even if she wouldn't hesitate to put a boot in your face for forgetting your manners.
When Cherry returned for her act, the sketchers were hot and ready for another display. Deliciously decorated and performing an assortment of poses. One of this month's competitions was to place Cherry in a farmyard situation and the number of graphic milking scenes were not unexpected. There were a special selection of boys and girls prizes this month, to make sure both sex had a chance for a lovely little treat.

Our second burlesque performance of the night, Meme Narciss showed us some mesmerizing tricks and a number of places she could hide cards. Sketchers darted around the room for a good spot to sketch for Meme's first pose, which had her lay down. Being the busiest night to date, there was fighting for the eye candy!
Those perplexed by the small pieces of paper, passed around on arrival, were about to have their minds put at rest. Or possibly not, as the task was to draw part of Meme, or as much as possible, within the tiny square. I personally went for the head, though an alarming number sketchers went for armpits and side boob. Cheeky!
For our final display, our underwater Cherry Queen was back from the depths to unveil her shimmery new show! Swinging her trident around and making waves left and right, our sketchers were left gasping for breath. A fantastic climax to our fifth event!

We hope you're all ready for the Halloween special, it will see the return of our macabre Miss Malice and the debut show for Miss Kinky Pink, whom those who attended the last event will of received a sneaky couple of poses from. Thanks again to our splendidly generous prize donators this month, Kits Boutique, Spice and Two Little Birds.
Remember that although the next event returns to the starting time of 7pm, it is to be held at the venue of 5 Degrees Below. Hope you all had a great time and see you on November 2nd!
Drag Kings and Drawing
28 September 2010
You’d be forgiven for thinking Mango Tango’s had been the scene of a bloody massacre as you approached the stage prepped for Cruellaand Eon’s psychiatric unit. This provocative pair are Falmouth’s debut double-act and it was certainly set to be a treat!
Even from within the constraints of a straitjacket and wheelchair, flesh could not be held back for long. With two models on stage together, it allowed for intimate interaction and unique poses that our sketchers had not encountered before now. A dark soundtrack echoed around the ward, whilst our models encouraged anything but rehabilitation.
After locking down the insanity ward, Betty Corbeau spun the globe and took us to a safer locale. Flaunting lei, a grass skirt and little else, this flowery delight was ready to hula along the beach with her flamingo on display. Sketchers were asked to turn Miss Corbeau into a film character of their choosing, which had them scratching favourites from Charlie Chaplin to Mary Poppins.
‘Now where is our Victorian drag act’, I hear you cry. Well you were in luck to bare witness to the finest looking moustachioed man-ladies since 1837. The stage lighting added an unexpected twist to the atmosphere, giving our models the perfect chance set themselves up within the crowd and get all personal with their poker faces and chess board shenanigans. A longer pose saw the return of the classic sketchbook-swap, where pairs could scribble on each others’ sketches to create freakish, hybrid super-drawings!
Sketchers of Falmouth were privileged to see Betty Corbeau perform her all-new Harpie Marx act, complete with the grabbing of honking horns and tangled underwear. Betty kept her act going for the entirety of the set and performed some brilliant poses like the fisty-cuffs. How on earth she managed to get all her kit within that jacket, we will never know.
A fight almost broke out over the subject of this month’s 'incorporate an imaginary animal' round. Our fabulous host, Fondant Fancy, silenced any giraffe doubters by simply suggesting they chose the alternative. That’ll learn ‘em!
Sketches of Harpie Marx groping giraffe testicles confirmed that good quality mind-filth was present as usual, and that is just how we like it. Contest winners were spoilt with some very artsy-craftsy prizes… colouring books, felt pens and one lucky winner bagging an Etch A Sketch.
A huge thank you to Loading Cafe on Quay Street, Falmouth for the amazing prize offerings. Also, thank you to our fantastic time-keeper, Emma from Two Little Birds, for helping contain Fondant’s oft meanderings.
Make sure you join us on October 19 as the night features the highly anticipated Meme Narcissand marks the return of the spectacular Cherry Shakewell! Tickets for October are only being sold online, so make sure you grab a pre-booking. This session will be between 8-11pm, and not the regular 7-10pm. The reason for the time-tweak only concerns ladies, whom may read on (gentlemen, avert your eyes!)...
—Ladies—This is an unmissable opportunity to get wild and have a shake down with international star Cherry Shakewell at her burlesque workshop! This is a one-off chance to tassel and twirl with the best. So if you’d like to give it a try and have some naughty fun, make sure you book yourself a ticket at www.drsketchysfalmouth.co.uk. The burlesque workshop starts at 6pm and sketching at 8pm.
See you all next month!
Photos coming soon…
Seaside rendezvous and gravity defying pose-pulling!
24 August 2010
Spectacular, spectacular, Dr. Sketchy's Falmouth is in full stride! This month, Slippery Nipples were lined up across the bar, fresh stockings were thrown out to competition winners and those who attended in July may have glimpsed a familiar face as the macabre Miss Malice joined the sketchers!
What's in the suitcase, Roxy? Ooh, put that away, you’ll scare the children! Summer girls should step aside as Roxy Soxoff needed a patch to stretch out her beach towel. Having brought a beach ball along to perform some very tempting poses, Roxy then sunbathed in her glorious 50s bikini whilst sketchers invited to her seaside rendezvous were spotted shuffling for a fill of different angles.

There was a downing of liquor in anticipation of our second model, the raunchy rodeo showgirl, Gigi Ryder. Quickly herding our sketchy crowd at the crack of a whip, Gigi mounted her hobby horse and got down to some saloon-girl teasing. Prizes were offered for surrounding her with the most inventive of locations which led to a showdown between a splashingly underwater scene versus the moon!
The latter half of this decadent evening began with a drop of tea and cakes as a tea-party was hosted by our delicious Roxy. Sketchers were given a taste of her offerings as she sauntered in her rockabilly attire into the audience with an array of sweet treats before revealing some tastefully lacy undergarments. The audience competed to sketch the fastest and try their hand at including this month’s imaginary animal, the Jackson Chameleon, into one of her delicate poses… complete with reptilian afros and boy-band harmonies!

And finally, if the pre-act pole rubbing wasn't enough, Gigi Ryder was about to demonstrate that she had a lot more yet to deliver with a tantalising pole dancing show. Skirts and frills were flaunted as she gathered speed to twirl and twist her way around the pole whilst elegantly removing clothing- all at altitude! A huge amount of respect to the talented Gigi for holding out some amazingly poses high up on that pole just for us sketchers to encapsulate.
As another eclectic evening came to a close, many thanks to Tyto Boutique for contributing a collection of wonderful prizes.
Make sure you and your friends head to Mango Tango's on 28 September as Betty Corbeau will be performing her all new Harpie Marx act! Plus there’s the eagerly awaited alt-girl double act from Cruella and Eon- two gals on stage for your drawing pleasure and it seems that they’ll be luring us into a psychiatric ward this month before toffing and ‘taching up in some Victoriana. We hope to see you there!
A macabre missy and nautical naughtiness!
24 July 2010
Another staggering night put together by the fabulous Fondant Fancy. Where else could you be at the mercy of an axe-wielding nurse and have your ship upturned by the naughtiest sailor girl… all in one night?
Sketchers were required to work their way under ground this month, into the realms of Miss Malice. Morbid and yet frightfully teasing, this is a combination that can prove most deadly. Our second performer was the raunchy Lilly la Rouge, bringing feathers and thrills to the stage with a selection of delightful burlesque poses.
I hear tight latex is the traditional attire in zombie land, and I don’t think you will hear anybody complain about that. Following the break, artists were booked in for an appointment with an axe-wielding, organ-clenching Nurse Malice.
After having a taste of hell, sketchers found themselves lured aboard deck with a inviting strip tease from Sailorette Rouge, to the appropriately sweet sounds of Candyman. As you can imagine, those towards the front quickly found the cabin steaming up.
Dr. Sketchy’s wouldn’t be complete without an array of contests, and many sweeties were given this month. Those drawing found themselves incorporating another rare beast... the Blue-Footed Booby. The final contest winner of the night was awarded a particularly tasty prize, courtesy of Willie Dynamite’s Diner.
Another very successful night for Dr. Sketchy’s Falmouth. We can’t wait for next month’s shenanigans! (24 August at Mango Tango, Falmouth).
Dazzling opening night!
29 June 2010
There was glitter, knickers and flesh galore on the very first night of this
life-drawing and cabaret cocktail...
The Great Cake Escape's Fondant Fancy escorted a sea of sketchers through an evening of nautical naughtiness, 007 delights and smouldering strip-tease thanks to performances from Cherry Shakewell and Miss Scarlet Rose. With a musical backdrop of Fench cafe meets vaudeville, these beautiful women posed in the finest of costumes much to the sketchers' delight. Fondant also added a sprinkle of contests and lovely prizes to get the imagination working. The 'who can incorporate the best drawing of a Dusky Titty Monkey' round proved an intriguing treat! An array of fantastic, ridiculous and beautiful drawings were produced by everyone- artists, tatooists, art students and those that simply fancied giving sketching a whirl.
Check out the 'Images' page for a peek into the wonderful night...
Thanks again to Just Like This, Two Little Birds and I Dream in Clockwork for providing the prizes and to Missy Mixed Media for the aural backdrop.
